Elsa Contreras “Finca La Pantera”:

Elsa Contreras lives on her farm along with her husband and two children. She has been in coffee production for twelve years and she is a third generation coffee producer. Elsa and her family produce 200 bags of green coffee each year during the harvest season. Apart from coffee, Elsa also grows corn and beans. Elsa does not have her own beneficio, so her coffee is transferred over to the COMSA beneficio to prepare for export. The name of the farm “la pantera” translates to “the panther” and it is named after a panther that has been spotted on the property numerous times. Elsa and her family belong to the Lencas, an indigenous group from southwestern Honduras. Elsa said that with each cup of her coffee that it made, you can taste the dedication and love that her family has put into producing high quality beans.
